BOX doesn't FRAG but REDS sometimes occur

I really want to know what this means, because it occassionaly accompanies an unexpected dashboard crash, or the FTP server getting wonky with my client. And sometimes when it happens, but everything ends up being fine. Once I had it while loading a program.

Like I said, this is quite rare, but I'm still concerned that it might be predicting a problem that will cause me headaches in the future: ie... random shorting... bad hard drive... bad RAM... corrupt sectors...whatever.

I don't really have reason to continue doubting the quality of my hardware, because everything works fine 95% of the time. I'd just like know, from people who've had success with their Xecuter 3's, if they occassionaly experience this.

EDIT:: I always get REDS while loading XPORT emulators from Avalaunch. Anyone else get this?

Xbox 1.1, Xecuter 3, Seagate 200GB ST3200822A-RK

Random Freezing

My games seem to be freezing more and more lately, even the originals. White lines run vertically down the screen. The xbox is about three years old. Do you think I need to replace my dvd drive?

Edited:
No red rings just freezing, cooled by 2-180mm fans, never had rrod nor xclamps, heat sink is cool to the touch

Re: Random Freezing

So I decided to test a few things, I can play music with full screen visualization without the unit freezing (I know this isn't nearly as intensive as playing a game but I don't have any demos to play and I don't want to connect to live without updating to LT plus it even freezes on Rock Band which isn't took intense on the CPU or GPU)

Re: Random Freezing

with graphical errors like blocks or lines it's generally the gpu. best chance is to get it reflowed. there's tons of tuts or find someone with a reflow station.
