I'm currently waiting for my X360USB Pro to arrive in the mail and I have a few questions before I flash my Brand New Xbox 360 Slim lite on Drive,

-Should I connect to Xbox live and Update my dashboard before flashing?

-When there is a new dashboard released while my console is flashed, what is the proper way to update?

-Thank you for any help!

well if it is a brand new slim the chances of it being a flashable one are very low, I always update 2 the latest dash b4 flashing cfw, and when its comes 2 a new dash, u should always reflash back to stock, update, and then reflash 2 cfw if the update is safe.

if its a new console its likely to have a liteon 1175 which aint flashable yet, from what i understand from being flamed that the firmware has been ready for a long time its just were not able to write to the drive right now until a work around has been found.. theres conflicting posts on the forum and the web that a work around has been found but yet not released..

It says in the Jungle Flasher Tutorial:Currently Only the LiteOn Slim Drive with 9504/0272 (pre 13599 dashboard) can be written to (unless you have a unlocked 0225/0401 – Rare!) The Drives with Firmware Version 0272 (if you have dashboard 13599) 0225, 0401 and 1071 can ONLY have their Keys Read unless they have been modified or unlocked
NOTE: AFTER DASHBOARD UPDATE (13146) ALL SLIM 9504 LITEONS ARE NOW STOCK 0272 FW – AFTER DASHBOARD UPDATE (13599) 0272 ARE NOW LOCKED!

Doesn't this say if I update my Dash with a 9504 drive it will then be a locked 0272? Don't I not want a locked drive because I would have to buy a Replacement PCB? So should I not update to the newest dash?

Well with the date u said the xbox was made in, 2010, i'm pretty sure its flashable, its possible u will have the 9504 which if the 360 has been sitting in a box for the past year and a half and is still on a old dash it might still be an unlocked 9504 which can be written to without the tx pcb, however this will only work if u want 2 play offline, if u go on live the drive's fw will be updated to 0272 and lock the drive meaning u would need the tx pcb.

You can use the original PCB, some are easier than others. Depending on if it is winbond or MXIC determines how hard. Can do the russian hack or kamikaze and not need a new board.

If you don't want to do that, get a new board.

If you don't have much experience with soldering, cutting traces or possibly drilling a chip then I would recommend getting a Tx pcb.

MCIX is easier than Winbond. The only way you will know what chip you have in your drive is to open it.

If you have any doubt whether you can do it or not just send it out and have someone that has experience do it for you.
