hey guys its been a while since i have used my xbox and i got a few new games that i made back ups of and am wanting to burn them, i know i need a ihas which is currently in the mail on its way to my house. But i was wondering if the brand of disk that i use maters? i have a few memorex disks left over from back ups a few years ago and i remember going to costco and getting a bulk pack of dl disks and they worked fine. So i was wondering with this new fancy ihas deal if you need to use a certain type of disk for it to work correctly?

Thanks

Verbatim made in Singapore. Media ID: MKM-001(2.4x) or MKM-003 (8x)

I was only asking because you put that on there more as fact, its more of a system to system basis. Mine for example 001's get much better results with overspeed on and burning on x4, x4 also works and gives me better results for 003's. That's only on my setup though.

Honestly i cant say i've ever seen anyone recommend x10, after all there's really no reason to rush this process. x8 is only really recommended with Singapore verbs, and from my understanding its more rare to try it at that high a speed, where India verbs shouldn't go higher than x4.

FYI This is the kind of setup that works for me and others. Its not "Gospel" and is not set in stone. It is meant as a guide to demonstrate that this can be a flawless process. There are so many variables that can effect the end result and as much as we would love to give you a definitive answer - there isn't one. What we do say is stick to Verbatim MIS (Made In Singapore). Once you have great results go from there and go with the process that works best for YOU.

I see lots of confusion so let me clear a few things up

Make sure KProbe2 is set to 4x CLV Scanning

PI MAX should be 100 or less & PI Average should be 5 or less
PIF MAX should be 4 or less & PIF Average should be 0.20 or less
Nero Score should be no less than 90

The fact that the burn verifies at 100% is irrelevant when you are testing the quality through KProbe2 so you may want to not waste your time doing that extra step. It doesn't hurt of course - but if you are running a full Kprobe scan its going to give you your correct verify results anyway regardless of what imgburn tells you.

There are many factors that affect a quality burn and/or test. Too many processes open in the background in Windows, poor quality SATA chipset, SATA set to AHCI instead of IDE can affect results, a dirty disc (fingerprints etc), burning from a fragmented drive (make sure images are on a nicely defraged drive with plenty of free space).

Also there are various settings with the EEPROM / IMGBURN that you can play with such as.....

Smartburn = enabled
Force Hyper Tuning = enabled
Online Hyper Tuning = enabled

Remember Verbatim MKM-001 = 2.4x with OPC in IMGBURN disabled and Verbatim MKM-003 = 4x with OPC in IMGBURN Enabled.

Nothing is set in stone but this is a good guide to put you on the right path. Remember the discs are now being pushed to their limit so the margin of error has been greatly reduced.

Please use this thread to post your success's and tips and tricks. Do not post here asking for advice or asking "does this graph look good".

Note: If you have problems with MKM001 - try this http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74097
I found this from, but i looked around a bit seeing if i could find more on the higher speeds http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-73612.html

Same here, I was just refering to the speed written on the disc. I can burn 003's @ 16x and 20x with overspeed, but I never will.

I burn both @ 4x. FHT=on, OHT=off, SB=on, Perform OPC=off, BurnProof=on, 512 buffer, Priority=Realtime. I get great burns, but even better in Safe mode.

AHHH i gotcha now. My burns are hit and miss lately, Seems it takes two burns to get a game in the sweet spot. I used to have issues with the PI, now its the PIF that wants to stick around 7.
Both my settings for 003 and 001 are SB-on FHT-on OS- on (so my 001's will burn at x4) OHT-off. OPC-off (although this setting doesn't really effect much for me) Kept my buffer at 80, seems to do better than higher settings in my case.
