Hi there,

I have tried to flash my Lite-on drive DG-16D2S (0251C) to the latest hacked firmware but jungleflasher 0.92 has crashed and I have bricked my drive (drive does not eject any more). I have tried to use the Lite-on erase procedure to flash to the original firmware but jungleflasher crashes everytime it is about to write the flash as you can see here http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj108/jasatt/jf_crash_1.jpg. I am using a VIA VT6421A Card and tried with drivers removed and with drivers installed on Windows 7 32-bit but to no avail. I am using the CK3 Pro and the CK3 Probe. I would appreciate any help to solve this problem. Thanks.

Regards

Run JungleFlasher as Administrator and also, let JungleFlasher "hang" for a few moments as it will usually kick back in once the write is complete (at least that was the case when I used VIA).

Lite-On erase will work fine, just keep trying it until you get Vendor mode again (status 0x72) and then write firmware to the drive.

Alternatively, you could always get an X360USB Pro, this will cure all those freezing issues ;).

Just a thought - not to sure if it is similar or not....

I was running JF fine and then one day every time a plugged phat liteon in it would crash - i tried everything, the only way forward was to start a new profile on the same PC - i use that now for flashing and nothing else.

It was obviously something else installed along the way that messed it up somehow.

Dunno if it's your fix - but it may work and only takes 2 mins to do :)

Usb pro is the wah forward. You could always use dosflash to recover the drive. I used this method ages ago before the via issues were fixed.

Also ensure drivers are fully removed as per the jungleflasher guide

I agree there Netkar . Since I had some problems with via pci board I got the x360 USB pro as soon as it went on sale. No problems since and takes less than a minute per DVD rom drive
