LITEON DG-16D2S Bricked Liteon DG-162S

I have somehow managed to brick my Liteon drive from my Phat 360 elite. Ive followed the instructions in the jungleflasher tutorial and managed to get it into vendor mode but im not getting the right status for flash chip properties and if I click write it says 'Unknown flash type Write aborted !' This is how its looking..

Anybody know how I can get my firmware back on?

you can't brick lite-on drives

power off the drive, press intro/device id, press yes,
you will see dots across your screen, when you do, power on the drive

Thats what ive done but instead of getting the correct flash chip properties Im getting the ones shown in the picture and I cant write any firmware to the drive.

Hit liteon erase then wait for 0x90 turn off then on

power cycle several times and try lite-on erase as well

how are you connecting the drive to your computer?

Ive done the liteon erase and I get this

Im connecting it with a via card with a CK3i, ive done it fine plenty of times in the past but I think I did something wrong this time.

what VIA drivers do you have installed?

go to device manager, right click the card, properties, driver tab

driver ver: xxxxxx

that's an issue there, you are using less compatible drivers

Ok ive tried installing them by running setup and it wont work. It says the install wizard cant find the proper component for the current platform. Ive tried it manually through the via card properties and it says the best driver software for your device is already installed. I tried uninstalling the existing driver and rebooting but it installs it again after the reboot.....

Manually navigate to the .inf file from device manager

In the case of a spelling error, I blame Tapatalk.

Ok ive got the driver installed now but im still getting device intro failed when i try liteon erase. It wont even go into vendor mode now.

All sorted now. Put the via card into another pc and got it into vendor mode eventually by power cycling the drive over and over again for a few minutes! Got the stock firmware back on now ready to update the dash. Thanks for the help appreciate it.

Sometimes it's much easier to use dosflash when having this issue. For future referance, if you have your cfw it will work first time in dosflah without any need to put the ofw back on.
