I've previously flashed a few drives at the beginning of the year and yesterday i was asked to do two lite-on 93450's (Phats) which have been updated making them 2510's

Like a fool i i flashed both drives with the wrong firmware 0800 (And they have been plugged back into there xbox boards and booted)

Not a problem (i think) the xbox booted up and i simply took them out again.

...................................................................................

During my 2nd flash JF froze writing bank 3 and obviously locked up my drive (No eject - No drive deteced)

I have tried dosflash - No drive found..... I have tried even writing the command dosflash ****<and my port then entering the erase code but still no avail

I have tried Iprep - No drive Found

JungleFlasher - Freezes

Please help

.............................................................................................

Drive number two

Tried to re-flash but again it isn't being detected in any of my programs (Reminding everyone this drive hasn't had a flash crash. Its been flashed and outtro'd just with the wrong firmware)

The only difference is this one doesn't crash windows when powered

.........................................................

I am using a ck3 and a VIA 6421 drivers uninstalled
windows 7 (.netframework built in)

I cant see how this would effect anything because i have already been able to flash the drives once but i thought it may be worth a mention.

Also its not my hardware because i can plug in my own liteon 7 and jungleflasher detects the drive

I have noticed dosflash will pick up my first drive when plugged into the mobo but obviously i cant do anything with it because my mobo chipset doesnt support the drive

Please could somebody advise me?

Lite-On erase will put the drives into Vendor mode (0x72) so that you can write new firmware to them. If Lite-On erase doesn't work (chip status n/a) then click Intro/Device ID and power cycle them.

Thanks for your fast reply, Ive tried this and after a few attempts managed to get the first drive to return status FF72.

But still dosflash,jf...etc failed to pick the drive up?

I take it you mean L-O 32? as you say click intro.... But i cant do that because if i try to boot the drive in windows it freezes the system

Quick update,

The tutorial posted worked for the 2nd drive (The one that wasn't powered in the xbox upside down)

I still have the problem drive,

When i plugged the power in upside down (on the xbox not the ck3) 3 red lights showed, I simply put the plug the right way and the drive worked again ejected blah blah. But it just didn't have the right firmware.

So i cant see it being a problem with a blown pcb because the drive still booted and ejected

Just after i had jf on the reflash nothing has seemed to work.:confused:

Putting the power connector in upside down is a big no-no... The problems you are describing sould like a partially fried pcb... at the very least you will need to look over the pcb under magnification or, more likely, replace it entirely... although it would probably be cheaper to replace the entire drive.Cog
