Okay so after damaging three 3 slims and only successfully modding one my persistence is slowing and am looking for some guidance.

Problem:

- Read nand. Four successful dumps
- Programmed and installed CR
- Wrote ECC, Failed.
- Console wont boot only beeps

Solutions Ive tried:

-
Reflashing nand and ecc
- Using different cable and computer
- Using nand pro
- Flashing different hex on JR

Im assuming its a brick. Ive searched that it can be fixed by shorting the nand. Ive tried this but nand pro says 'usb device/interface not found' or something like that and crashes. Any help would be really appreciated. I will check my nand points and pads with a multimeter when I get one today.

Can someone please help me. :frown:

Image of Coolrunner: No CR attached; removed

Description of problem: Nand was dumped. When attempting to write ecc (attempted more than once) received errors. Attempted to turn on console, wouldnt turn on; only beeps. Removed CR to check RB315 and other points; all fine. Attempted to rewrite nand but received Flash config 0x0000000 error

Was the console working before you started: Y

Do you get a green debug light appear on the RGH chip every 4-5 seconds: No CR currently attached; Red light was on when powered

How long is the light on for each time: No glitch; console doesnt turn on

any reason why you've wired it up from the bottom ? have you tried the top side ?

can't see the soldering on the yellow wire

also, can you post a pic of your JR-PROGRAMMER

I some how prefer the bottom ... feels less crowded and more accessible. Ive tried the top points on this console but same errors. Ive had a technician friend look at it who said the soldering was fine... Will check with a multimeter and take pics of programmer when I get home

can you also try a different USB cable and a different PC

Ive tried two different cables and computers... Ive also tired removing other appliances as Ive heard they can interfere if plugged in the same outlet. I will try a different power brick though.

Tried nand pro but get 'usb device/interface not found' and then it crashes.

can you perform the troubleshooting from THIS page when you're having the timeout issue and report back with your results

have you also tried other software like autoGG or any other spi flashers like nand-x or any generic ones ?

Won't turn on and showing flash config 0x0... Sounds like a damaged STBY_CLK to me. Post a good image of the HANA area.

Sweet, thanks. I was just about to look for a voltage diagram... I have auto gg but honestly have no idea how to use that application. Will familiarize myself and post all results soon.

Does it just beep and nothing else happens? If so check stby_clk for damaged resistor.

The OP will get there eventually. I highly suspect that is the problem. It's got the signs written all over it. Only beeps and can't read the NAND. Classic signs of STBY_CLK damage.

I was thinking the same thing and it could very well be the issue but OP's log shows reading the nand ok but when he's writing ECC, he gets "Io TimedOut" even though he had good flash config..

the weird thing is it timed out at the first block so nothing should have written therefore console should still boot ..unless STBY_CLK is damaged

OP: did you install the coolrunner before reading and writing to your nand ? can you also post a clear pic of the STBY_CLK area like Krafter requested (orange wire next to HANA)

That was my initial thought as i have had to do a trace repair before but it all seems fine. Anyways heres the pic :

Also, I picked up a multimeter so i can test the points but i dont know how to use it (noob room lol) if someone can quickly walk me through that.

Will also be trying:
- Auto gg
- nand pro (again)
- Different power cable ect.

Also; first i read the nand .... then connected the cr... then flashed the ecc

put the meter in the ohms setting (horseshoe symbol) and check that resistor.. should be 33 ohms
