A while ago I was updating my Lite On with LT+. During the process my computer froze due to me not having my via raid drivers removed. At the time this wasn't a big deal as I had a spare Lite On drive from a dead box and as I had flashed my box numerous times I had the key.

However yesterday my drive started making horrible noises and stopped reading disks so I thouight I would try unbricking my old drive.

I have the drive connected to my pc through a CK3 Pro and a via6421 card.

I have tried numerous versions of Jungleflasher and several iprep tutorials to try to unbrick this drive but am having no luck at all so any help would be gratefully received!

Cheers in advance!

Simply send Lite-On erase to the correct port and power cycle, that will put the drive into Vendor Mode (status 0x72) so you can write new firmware to it.

If Lite-On erase hangs on something like 0x7F, click Intro/Device ID and power cycle again - that should be enough to kick it into Vendor Mode.

PC froze after Lite on erase.

The drive is now stuck at FF80 (l-o-eras) and does not show at all in Jungleflasher.

I also forgot to mention I have also tried to recover the drive on another pc. At a loss for what to try next!

jungleflasher, MTK flash 32 tab, intro / device ID and power cycle and you should get the chip properties providing your via raid card is set up correctly

I tried power cycling at numerous points. Via card is set up as per JF's instructions and sata cable is attached to the correct port

Ok, try this.... power off the CK3, click Lite-On erase, hit Yes, power back on, click Yes again and then power cycle (turn the CK3 off and then back on within 5 seconds).

just out of interest how have you got your via card set-up, is it an additional card or is it an on board port on the motherboard. You need to set the correct drivers to use a via card to stop it freezing with liteons. I use the uniata driver for flashing and then switch back to standard for backing up.

Its an additional card with the driver deleted as per jungleflashers instructions. Havent had any issues since removing the drivers after freezing this drive

My bad gave wrong page number earlier. If that procedure that has been giving to you in previous posts wont work there is an easy recovery using the x360usb pro. If you cant get it sorted send the drive to me i will sort it out for free just cover postage both ways :)
