Okay I realize I am an idiot. Here is what I believe I have done - I flashed the bios with all the banks to the left, thus replacing any bios that was on there. Unfortunately, I seem to have something wrong with my new bios as the xbox simply crashes each time I try to boot from a bank. Normal xbox functionality remains with long tap though.

I read the tutorial several times I guess the part about switching some of the banks just didn't sink in.

Anyhow, I want to know is there any way to restore the original bios to the chip (X3) or have I ruined it by flashing away all of my space to some sh*tty bios?

I have an xbox v1.0 like they made in back the 1800s and I was trying to put evox v2.3 on an X3 chip.

Also, any particularly clever insults are welcome and called for.

Also, I forgot to mention that the power+eject combo doesn't do anything for me.

Ha, nice picture, d**k

Basically the only thing I did wrong was not set the banks correctly. The bios is personal preference - I was wondering what the process was for simply restoring the X3's original bios, other than the eject+power buttons, as that does not work.

Is it possible to restore if I have flashed as described in my previous post, or is the mod chip done for?

are you a complete moron? Xecuter, the head of the company that makes the chip that you are using told you that you installed your chip wrong, you however insist that you did it correctly. You are an idiot. Go back and install your chip correctly, then it may work using the backup bios. If not buy a new one, and like my man said, READ THE f**kING MANUAL!!!!!!!

You know i found a worrying and often re-occuring trend here

if i tell a European or someone from Asia that they did the sh*t wrong and they should do some reading before they bother posting - they all come back to me and say hey you are right i didnt read the manual correctly - its all working sweet now - thanks a lot - im dumb for not doing what I should have done in the first place.

but when its americans they get all bitchy and offended and act like 15 yr olds and cuss you and say their soldering is perfect and they did nothing wrong and f**k you d**k and eat my lamer etc etc etc

strange that

Way to stick up for others Redneck. It seems the moderator was able to tell I was kidding. Just take a step back and calm down. The install went smoothly - not my first, lets get past that one. The question still lingers, however, is there another method for loading the backup bios besides the power+eject combo?

Thanks Redneck, I would appreciate no more posts from you as they are petty and not helpful. Any other thoughts on regaining the original bios?

Yeah I tried all of those. I am going to plug in my friend's X3 to my connections and see if his works - quick and easy way to tell if my install went properly. If his chip works, then I am going to hotswap my chip into the case and reflash. I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: DVD different label detectable?

I have ripped a couple games that do not come up as DVD-ROM even when ripping with a 0800 drive I think it is normal.
