BROKEN 360

MY FRIEND HAS A 360 THAT PLAYS DVD, BUT WONT PLAY GAMES. ANY IDEAS OF WHAT COULD BE WRONG. HE WANTS TO BUY ANOTHER, but i think it can be fix. any ideas?

whats the error when he puts in a game. If its "to play this disc put it in a xbox 360 console" his drive has been replaced and they didnt inject the drive key. So he will need a new 360.

It this only with backups or originals as well?

As bacon said, sounds like a key issue.

well you need to HAVE the key. EACH 360 has it own UNIQUE key. So unless he does have his key, he will need a new 360 because there is no way to extract it from the motherboard at this time.

Or at a minimum, buy another motherboard with a known key.

You can usually find them on ebay. However, make sure it is a reputable seller.
