Hi folks, hope someone can assist. The evoxdash.xbe file in my C drive is broken (yes, it's my fault and I should have known better but I'm a noob to chipping / etc) and now my X3 chipped box boots straight through the X3 bios and loads the next available dashboard - the rather restrictive M$ default. Yes, I also figure now that I'll load a backup dashboard in there when I fix this for next time that I screwup as well - however I need to fix the problem first.

So, my real problem is that I just want to ftp access the box and fix the xbe file problem - I have read a tut about making a new EvoX boot CD-R, but am wondering if this is the only way? I have bank 5678 still available for any other X3 compatible bios that might get me on the network with ftp server - but I don't know what to look for and am finding #xbins channel intimdating - I don't really know how to ask in there if there is a suitable BIOS that I can load in the second bank for this.

P.S. I've reloaded bank 1234 with X3_1959 but it must take it's settings from a file on the hdd as it still goes straight to default M$ dashboard on bootup. I can reflash either bank by the use of the clever backup 256K bios by the way - Team Xecuter really deserve to be congratulated this chip is tip top!!!

Try holding down the white button when you start up... That will take you to config live...(X3 bios)

once in config live just change the dash boot order if you need to boot to another dash or ftp while in config live. password and username usually x3.

i dont think they added the ability to change the password so yes it MUST be x3 for pass/username. I believe they will add that feature in later builds I THINK.....

Yep - thanks for the replies folks. Holding white button on bootup indeed takes you to X3CL and hence back on the network with ftp access to the drive. Problem sorted now, XBMC back up and running! Cheers.

Okay, you didn't post a question but I'm assuming you want to know how to flash your drive. Well, head over to the Jungle Flasher website and download the Jungle Flasher tutorial from the Downloads page (and get their program too). I suggest downloading and going through the "The Firmware Mod - A beginner's Guide" first. You should also go through the troubleshooting guide if you get stuck while flashing your drive.
