I feel like a total dumbass... I was working on putting the hd in my pc when i guess the power section of the drive touched part of my (metal) PC case. Then the Xbox shutdown automatically, and it shorted out the drive. I know you guys are like omg what a total dumbass but seriously... I hear there is a solution like getting a BIOS that can boot an unlocked HD. Only problem is, how the hell to i get the new drive to be Xbox formatted and partitioned. Ive seen drives like this but they are way over priced. Also, does any body know of a BIOS that can boot up and Unlocked HD? I do have a seperate working Xbox that I would perfer not to mod, i just got it a few weeks back. If there is a solution where i can back up the new Xbox drive to a new drive that i bought seperatly that would be cool. Sorry if i posted this in the wrong forum, i didnt know which one to put it in.

Thanks

...You shorted the HDD. It's dead. There's no "solution"

Just install a new HDD and find a program called slayers and burn to disk. Then just boot off this disk and select new HDD install.

this wont require a modchip?

Yes you will need a mod chip or soft mod in order to run slayers. Otherwise send the xbox off for repaire at m$ and they will charge you a fortune!
