Hi i am building an xbox 360 but i have got to the stage of connecting DVD drive to the motherboard. I have a v59 hitachi DVD drie but are unsure if i have to have a certain motherboard and where i should get one from. After i get one i will need to insert the motherboard key into the drive and i need reasuring and what i have to do (i have a rough idea). If someone can please post a link to a website that can help me i would really appreciate it. Thanks

The DVD Drive needs to have actually came with that Motherboard your hookin it up to if not then you need to try and get the orig.bin from the other dvd drive that actually did come from this motherboard cuz that contains the DVD Drive Key to make it work right with this motherboard

Even if you bought a xbox 360 motherboard you'd have to ensure they have the correct DVD Key that goes with it so they can give it to you when you put in a DVD Drive so you can flash the key to it and have it working in no time.. I'd say you may get lucky sometime at http://www.llamma.com/xbox360 but it doesn't look like they got any motherboards in now.

Yeah to flash the DVD Drive / Update w/ firmware & correct key you'll need the VIA Sata card or the onboard sata may do fine if you got one at all.
