Bungled Solder on v1.6--XBox doesn't display blue

Ok, so I don't have a whole lot of hope left that I'll be able to fix this but here goes:

I was soldering on the lpc rebuild pcb that came with my X3 chip and I was using the wrong tool for the job (a too big soldering iron with a too big tip--I was too lazy to get a smaller tip and now I'm paying for it). Anyway, it didn't go so well and I ended up having to remove it. I was worried that the motherboard had been fried so I put everything back together unmodded and started it up. The MS Dashboard started fine and would even load games with only one little problem. The picture is screwed up--it appears to not be displaying any blue.

I guess I'm hoping that some genius out there will be able to say, "No blue colors, huh? That's easy, you messed up such and such connection or capacitor. Just replace it or fix this connection and it will work fine."

Any ideas on how to fix this or to at least figure out where the problem is or should I just write it off and buy another one?

Xbox 360 NXE Dashboard UNLOCK HARD DISC ( It Works!)

Heya Guys,

I found this dashboard update that will unlock your banned HD. Now I can install games to the HD. No need for Jtag BS.

Do a search for ( I don't think I can post torrents links) :

Xbox 360 NXE Dashboard [06.04.2010] [2.0.9199] UNLOCK HARD DISC

Download the file (7.7 Megs in size) and follow this guide:

small guide:

1. unpack it
2. Put the $Systemupdate$ folder in root of the USB stick (FAT32)/cd/dvd
3. insert USB stick (FAT32)/cd/dvd with the update
4. turn off xbox 360
5. turn on the xbox 360 again, and you will get a request asking if you want to update.

In case you are interested.

Since I was banned in the November's wave I downloaded the latest dashboard update from MS then applied the Unlock. It worked like a charm.

Here is the MS official update if you want to follow the same route:

Re: Xbox 360 NXE Dashboard UNLOCK HARD DISC ( It Works!)

I have downloaded both of the files and merged them into the same folder, but my xbox will not read the USB stick. (Banned in november).

I am going to try a CD now, but should I be doing 2 updates (1 with the official update and 2nd with the unlock update? or 1 update with merged files?)

============ EDIT 1 ==========

Okay so I did get the update to read from the USB on my banned console. (Folder name needs to be "$SystemUpdate") Except it does not unlock the 360. I can install games to the HDD, but profiles and saves are still being corrupted.

Jtag remains the only solution >.<

how did you get it to work? I've uncorrupted my profile before using the hdd. But when I try using the usb flash drive, xplorer360 gives me the "could not find a FATX drive to open" error

I'm using Xtaf GUI v0.06 to read the usb drive, I can extract the gamer tag file but can't seem to uncorrupt the profile.

After I put it in my stock xbox it sees the profile but with 0 gamer score and it won't let me select it.

yea i had the same problem too but heres how I got it to work. Press the guide button on the controller and then select the profile that way. It lets me select it and has my gamerscore along with it. Hope this helps

Re: Xbox 360 NXE Dashboard UNLOCK HARD DISC ( It Works!)

While this does unlock HDD installs, and file/profile used on the banned console will become corrupt on any other 360. While yes it is true you can "uncorrupt" a file using a hex editor, there will be a good chance of a ban coming your way or a gamerscore reset.

Also restoring the NAND isn't the same as Jtaging. You can restore any 360's NAND, but you can only JTAG specific Dashboard/Kernals.

how would my unmodded console get banned or my gamerscore get reset? im not achievement hacking or playing online with a modded console.

I've been banned for nearly a year now, no biggie I didn't really use most of the online features. But losing the install to HD was a major blow. Is this exactly what I've been looking for, or am I missing some obvious caveat? :)

As to saves / profiles not working on an unbanned box, isn't that the case regardless of this patch?
