they are brand new just the drive no cables
thanks for the kind offer. i may take you up on it.
i am in the US. Any idea if this one on Amazon would work?
http://www.amazon.com/Asus-Serial-ATA-Internal-Optical-DRW-24B1ST/dp/B0033Z2BAQ/ref=cm_rdp_product

i get free shipping, so would prefer this way. this model does not have LT at the end so i dont know. a guy in products comments from last month claims it does, but theres not much to go on. do you or anyone else know if it has to be an ST/LT?

Thanks

Ok thanks.

BTW i've been reading a tutorial (another site) on omitting burnermax and using overburn with imgburn on a regular drive. Do you know how successful this is? I'm guessing not very since few mention it on here.

If overburning or truncating were viable options, it would be considered, but its not.

You can't overburn on a regular drive so they are talking NON-sence...

The drive must house a specific Mediatek chipset to be FULLY overburn compliant, a trait normally only found in clone drives although it can rarely be found in some older drives as the Mediatek chipset was used quite frequently after NEC pulled out of the market...

Thought id start this since nobody else did yet, think the idea is that you add/edit as you go...

NOTE: This list is not a definitive compatibility list, it is merely compiled from the TX forum members reports, just because your burner is in the REPORTED NOT WORKING list does NOT mean you should not give it a go anyway!!

REMEMBER YOU MUST INSERT A BLANK DVD+R DL DISC BEFORE SENDING THE BURNERMAX PAYLOAD!!!

Thanks adrianis for the update :)
I may be a little late but before posting I wanted to confirm on multiple drives and burns. I have a few laptops after using my stock dell inspiron N5050 RW drive to enable burner max payload tool I then upgraded my other 2 laptops with the same MATSHITA DVD+-RW UJ8C1 D.02 11052400 drive that is in my dell and they burn great with burnermax payload tool enabled. I noticed there were multiple MATSHITA drives that were listed as not working in this list. This particular drive DOES WORK. I hope this helps.

wait ummm so i have a [PBDS DVD+-RW DH-16W1S2D14] and when i put in my dual layer cd and run burner max it says
Scanning: D:\ [PBDS DVD+-RW DH-16W1S2D14]
L0: 0x84C0
L1: 0x834C
L1: 0x836C
L1: 0x8387
Patching: ............
BurnerMAX not enabled, YET !
but the weird part is that when i got to img burn it actually does switch it to 8.7gb instead of the 8.5gb it was before so if i burn will i have issues

Why say it is working when Pioneer 111D is not. your making people spend money on drives that don`t work:mad2:

Here is a quote from another thread by myself I should have added here in hindsight.

When will people understand that the compatibility list is pretty much useless for a magnitude of reasons...

Follow me:

The date of Manufacture of the drive will likely be different to the person that posted their result, this would likely result in the drive using different componants BUT RETAINING THE SAME MODEL NO.

The amount of times I have read of people trying to get an older firmware for a drive they bought recently with the same model is crazy!!! Of course it won't work cause your probably flashing it to a smaller chip memory and likely an incompatible drive.

Why has no-one ever corrected these errors? you cannot assume all drives are like the iHAS with it's (A - Z) revisions, some drives will be called (B) throughout the course of their manufacturing cycles.

Some firms even use the same model no and give it to two totally different dives with different chipsets, If you really want to find compatible drives search for those with a Mediatek chipset and a memory large enough to hold the correct firmware and patch... OR use the confirmed Clone list, that is much easier!!!
Basically this list is very misleading and many of the drives purchased are unlikely to work.

Hi, I got the BurnerMax Payload Tool to use on my HP laptop -CDDVDW TS-L633R. It is on the "reported working" list.

The drive seems to work perfectly with BurnerMax so I burned a disc as normal.

It seemed to burn the disc fine but when it got to finalizing the disc at the end I got this error:

Finalise disc failed! - Reason: Session Fixation Error Writing Lead Out

Has anyone else had this error?

Thanks

Testing a HP DVD1260I now.
Update: It passes the "BurnerMax IS enabled!" bit. Burning GTA V Disc 2 to a Singapore Verbatim, Will post updates as to whether the burn was successful and recognized or if it failed. Also, if it has any issues installing the game disc and running (Generally with overburns it fails after about 19 seconds if the game is installed)
Update: It has produced 3 unsatisfactory burns using 3 different settings (recommended over this and other forums). The dvds were from Verbatim themselves and showed as MKM-003. A totally unrelated blu-ray drive from HP has produced working copies on this exact game with these discs, so I guess this drive should be marked as not working.

Update: I have just produced a working one which installs and plays for (atleast) 2 minutes after installing. It seems this is unreliable, however works.

Update: United Arab Emirates verbatim discs appear to have a FAR higher success rate. Burnt 10 XGD3 backups, all with a 100% success rate (I'm backing up my games library, the Singapore ones were 7/10 working, This one is 10/10 working)
