burnermax payload tool - error?

sorry if this is in the wrong place. Trying to gather all the stuff i will need to flash my first xbox. Its an old elite, phat. jasper board. liteon drive in the xbox.

I bought two new burners (one liteon blu ray for the PC, and one liteon IHAS 124-04 WU)

Ive since read the WU is not able to be upgraded with the burnermax firmware, but the burnermax payload tool says it can be used.

I put a verbatim DVD+R DL disc in the drive F:,, ran img burn to check the size... ran burnermax payload tool and get this error.

I upgraded the firmware on the 124 IHAS drive from HL05 to HL0F.

tried again, same error. am i doing something wrong or will none of these burners work for burning games?

if this drive will not work - is there one I can buy now I can be sure works? I dont mind spending money on one - just need to find one. Bought the IHAS yesterday from tigerdirect, it arrived WU. I will return it and buy one that works - just need to be sure. can anyone recommend a drive from tigerdirect? (wanted to use Tiger for my return credit, but if they dont have any, i will buy from whomever)
