So this is abit weird, so to start, i used BurnerMAX payload tool with a Lightscribe iHAS 224A drive, and modified ZL0P firmware to force 8x dvds to burn at 2.4x, now my experience was weird, because an A drive does not support burnermax but i clicked yes on Imgburn to give it a go anyways, with my original Verbatim 2.4x dvdrs, and it burned 100%, to the very edge of the dvd with no visable lip like burnermax should, not a single coaster, it should not work on such a device especialy when i have not flashed burnermax onto the drive itself, did that with all my 2.4x verbatims, but i went to the store because i ran out. and got verbatim 8x 8.5 gig Life series dvds, now this is where it gets weirder, i successfully burned these dvds to the edge, but most of them where coasters or unstable when put into the 360. then i tried running in overburn, it did like it said, got to 97%, but this time the dvd worked great, every single 8.5g dvd worked in overburn mode. yet what still stumps me is how the burnermax payload tool successfully burned 5, 8.5 gig dvds to the edge on the verbatim 2.4x series on an unsupported, and unflashed dvd burner?

224A is supported by payload tool. Changing your discs is probably your problem as u had good results from your previous discs. The burnermax payload tool is integrated into the latest imgburn now.

ahh wow, everywhere i looked it told me the 224A was not a burnermax drive, oddly enough the memorex and verbatim 8x dvds will not work with the payload tool, they have about a 40% success rate, and a 100% with overburn. but the 2.4x recommended dvds have a definate 100% with the payload tool, but memorex and verbatim 8x seem to be mostly coasters, they are both the same label CMC MAG D03-064 dvd-r discs, which are both about 10 dollars per pack of 10, which is considerably cheaper then the 2.4x verbatims, which seems to make sence. other then that, i guess its obvious that the payload tool has problems with that dvd model, memorex and verbatim versions. although modifying my ZL0P firmware to write that dvd revision at 2.4x produced better results
