Here's my deal. I recently installed an x3ce in my xbox. All went well, when I turn on my box chip enables and i get the flash bios screen. I have a sony crx320e cd rw and a sony ds6a dvdrw . I using nero 7.0 with all settings set per flash bios tutorial.I'm using x3 3294 v16 bios.bin + dummy.bin. I burned with both drives using a tdk dvd-r and a philips dvd+rw media. When I set up to boot from disk, I get no boot update found halting. Dont know what to do any help would be appreciated..

Thanx,

you said you used 3294 v16.bin + dummy.bin. did you rename your bios to bios.bin? If not you need to!!!

I have flash disabled. Yes I did rename bios to bios.bin. The Xbox has a samsung dvdrom.
Dont really have any experience w/flashing via http. Its my nephew's box, dont think he has ever been on network with it. Aren't you supposed to have a different kind of breakout w/usb?
Really want to get this guy flashed. I done everything by the book and seems to me the drive is not reading the disc. I'm really stumped.. The tutorial mentioned something about better media. Could that be my prob and if so what would u guys consider better media.

Thanx for the quick replies,

Samsung drives are the best and read several types of media. Try a few different types of dvd-r's if you can. My samsung also likes cd-rw and dvd+rw. Try and try again.

Oh yeah, spliff up first!

I've tried TDK cd-rw & MEMOREX cd-rw and they both worked on first try, and my xbox dvd drive is Thomson which is pretty picky when it comes to blank media. I also tried using TDK dvd-r to back-up my games and it didn't work but SONY dvd-rw worked...to be safe, just use re-writables to avoid wasting your blank media. Hope this helps! :)

Do you know anybody with a chipped xbox that would let you try their drive in your xbox. I have had to do this before as some drives are really bad at reading the bios disk.
It doesn't have to be the same make as yours, you can use the phillips or thompson.

OK guys thanx for all the input, but i have a question regarding nero. I have a dummy.bin that is 100M and a bios .bin that is 1M, now when I burn w/ nero 7it says my file size is 102M. I'm using X3 v16 3294 bios.bin which is 1M. potsmoker<---------

Before burning check if you have the correct bios, right click the bios file and check the properties if you have 1,048,576 bytes size...open Nero start smart, select Nero burning Rom and choose the CD-ROM(ISO) option.:)
