I have a few backups that are xgd3 i have verified them with the latest abgx and i have heard that you may need a special drive to burn the discs , is this true ? or can you just use any old drive with imgburn set to layer break ?

using any old drive will generate truncated backups which will work but not recommended at all if you go on live.

Well Tony88, Im not sure about that. I have a few truncated burns that were installed on my hard drive before I got my IHAS burner and they work fine. But as Kamenrider has said, if you're going to play on xbox LIVE spend $30 and get yourself and IHAS 124b dvd burner. They make the closest to perfect burns.

CIV checks, which is what tony88 is talking about, occur on and offline.

There should be no distinction between online and offline anymore, as the same checks happen for both instances.

I understand what Joesinger is saying. My comment was directed more towards saying, if you dont play online at all then truncated burns are fine.
