burnout revenge

I imported burnout revenge from japan n expected it to work wen backed up on to my xbox hdd. i cant get it to work, it just flickers in black n white. i tried downloading it too and it still comes up with the same flickering. does my xbox not like games from japan?? please help

sounds like it's trying to run in NTSC M mode as it's a japanese game and your tele can't handle an NTSC signal.

I use DVD2XBOX to copy games to the HDD and set ACL processing to yes. Use a dashboard that can force a game to run in PAL. I would also recomend using DVD2XBOX and using ACL processing. If setup correctly DVD2XBOX can change the region of the game to 7 which is MULTI. Should also help to make your XBOX run the game in your boxes native mode which is PAL.

I think you're rite about the NTSC stuff, i thought that but its not happened before. I have lent the game out. I have the iso on my pc. if i burn it to dvd n then use dvd2xbox, that should work rite? which dashboard would you recommend? i use evoX but have avalaunch as well. thanks

My setup that i use is:

Unleashx as my dash, has good Video Mode Settings In it
DVD2XBOX to copy discs, make sure your using latest version 0.7.0 - set ACL processing to yes

to date running this setup I have not had a sginle problem with a game from any region.

k need a bit of help then if this is the case. wat method shud i use to put unleashX on and how do i put the new version of dvd2xbox? cheers

these are question that are only going to be answered by you doing some reading!!!!

there is a bit more involved than just reeling the information off to you.

there are two options you could use:

1) copying required files over by FTP

this requires you to have a basic understanding of networking, tcpip, obtaining and using an FTP client. You will also have to understand how to configure the apps by editing the XML files and where the files need to resided on your xbox.

2) making a xbox dvd compliant cd/dvd

you could put the files on a dvd and copy them over that way. But again this assumes you have a bit of basic knowledge, like creating xbox compliant ISO files, dummy files etc etc.

depending on how much of this you know depends on how much success you will have. Do you see why it is not just a case of listing step by step instructions now. I would recomend doing some reading both here and over at www.xbox-scene.com in the tutorials section.

no need to sound harsh but u dont need to speak to me like im a 4 year old. the whole point in asking a question is to get an answer. n u have told me everything i need to know. i have been backing up games for years. jus wanted to know why it was this particular game. u know the saying "assumption is the mother of all f*** ups" do not ASSuME, cos it makes an "ASS" out of "U" and "ME". u may have been trying to help but u have given me information i already know. and the 2 methods you have explained basically were the first things i tried. ACL processing is on as well. maybe the iso is damaged. thanks

I'm sorry you feel like that.

As you appeared not to know how to install UnleashX i was trying to point you in the right direction, not treat you like a four year old.

I gave you an answer I felt was appropriate, and in my opinion it was not something that could be listed as a set of step by step instructions. Instead I gave you what I felt would be topics worth reading up.

I did not assume anything, you asked how to install unleashx/dvd2xbox and I repsonded.

Grow up, I learnt that assume make an ass out of u and me thing when I was still at school.

Sorry for trying to help by offering my opinion. I should learn to stop expressing my opinion, seems to just get people shouting at you these days. If you can't acccept peoples opinions don't post! SIMPLE

WELL it didn't seem like he was talking any kina way to you pal!!! if someone asked me how to install a dash and dvd2xbox i would think they don't know their ass from a hole in the ground!!!

and even if he was "talking to you like a 4 year old"....just remember, your the one asking question...and hes the one giving answers!!!! and when u ask questions like that, u should EXPECT to get flamed!!!! to go take another steroid and chill out

I have got Burnout revenge to work I took the ISO and extracted it
FTPed it to the XBox and luanched it with UnleashX

If you use xiso to extract the iso... you'll prolly have better luck.

It can be found on xbins.

I ran into this on another thread so on a lark I DL'd burnout revenge and used alcohol 120 to extract the iso... supriseingly I got no love but, with xiso it worked. Don't ask me why...
So try extracting with that instead of whatever you're using!:)
