RGH Burnt C1D7 after 2weeks without issues!

RGH'ed a Jasper 16MB elite for a friend of mine, after some struggling with STBY_CLK we got it working, glitched perfect every time with the cap installed.

now after 2weeks the PSU turned red, unplugged it and tried again and it worked but started freezing and sometimes slower glitch times, and it smelled burnt! so opened it up and found this!

anyone got any ideas what this is the cause of? bear in mind my soldering is not the best!:rolleyes2:

just realized there is supposed to be a capacator there, but it's completely burned away! how could this have happend?
anyone know the value of the cap?

Google it and you will see quite a few results of people accidentally bridging it or knocking it off and having to replace it.

i did google it, but found very few results, however after cleaning it up it actually works without it! dumped the whole nand without issues and playing games as i type.

but thanks alot for the links if it ends up with errors i know where too look!

edit: the nand was dumped with 360 nand flasher.xex not with HW flasher (nand-x).

I was on my phone earlier for the last post made it bit harder to find stuff
I seen a few others had success without it after it was cleaned etc. You could add a new one but why take the chance of damaging it more! only take a slip of the hand and "aaarrrggg".

Glad ya got it working. Crap feeling when you think a box is doomed! Great when ya find out how to fix it though.
