Hi all, firstly I have read as many threads over a 3 week period as I could and tried as many things as I can but still no joy.

Xbox360 bought last year 2nd hand and working ok until my son played a game and half way through an update it threw up status code 3151-351f-2800-0f00-c000-0059.

So I tried a fat32 usb drive and cd with the latest update which didnt work?, bought a via vt6421A pci card and an xecutor ck3i and probe 3. Used win xp 32bit & Jungleflasher 1.92 to retrieve the key from the Liteon Dg-16D2s with FW 0251 flashed the drive with LTplus 025 v2.0.bin. Reconnected drive to xbox but still the same code above. Tried with also LTplus 748 v1.1bin still no joy. Bought another Liteon drive and flashed this along with key code and still same error.

I am at a standstill what to try next, it bothers me that I cannot update the console with either usb or cd with latest download from web.???
I would be grateful of any direction someone could point me. I would guess the drive had been modded before as the drive has a 74850c ver sticker on the drive but when i extracted the key it read 0251 FW vers so i guess this has something to do why a usb update of the console doesnt work?
Many thx

No the reason you are seeing 02510c is because microsft released an update, I believe 131xx, that turned all firmware for 7,8, and 9xxxx firmware to 02510c.

Since you have dvd key, you need to first return dvd to stock using stock post 13xxx firmware for liteon phat in folder, then it will let you update through usb because it is stock., then you can flash lt +3.0 ad all should be working.

I had same problem before. Try putting the update on a usb stick and renaming it to $$ystemupdate
Your refering to RGH/Jtag there. OP you dont need to rename to $$ystemupdate just leave it as is and put it on the root of your thumb drive to install.

Thing is make sure you grab the update that would come off the disk your son put in. What game was it?

you need dashboard 13146, the latest update from Microsoft wont work.
that is the update that flashed the drives to stock.

I couldn't get any updates after this to install if this one hasn't gone on first.

He is already updated to 02510c. Per his statement

I would guess the drive had been modded before as the drive has a 74850c ver sticker on thedrive but when i extracted the key it read 0251 FW vers so i guess this has something to do why a usb update of the console doesnt work?

it should work from usb, he just needs the same update that was on the disk. use your original copy.

all he needs to do is put the original game in, if he has a copy and no original then he is a pirate.

flashed back to stock post 13141, orig-02510C-1C000 and tried again with usb but still 0059 code, my son is hazy as to what disk he tried as he is only 7 and when it faulted he tried several disks? He thinks it was FIFA 11.
I suppose my next direction would as kindly been given as to try an updated dashboard to usb? ie 13146, 13599, 13604
Are these on the xbox site?

OP, you were on the right track moreso than any of the suggestions that followed.

The first 2 parts of the error code tell you the previous and new dash versions respectively (in hex). So, you were going from 12625 to 13599 when the update failed and it's therefore obvious why it failed.

Since you have a pre 0251c dash, you need to flash your drive with 7485 stock firmware and then apply the 13599 dash update from USB stick.
That's providing the 74850c is the original drive. It may not be!

I until a few weeks ago knew nothing about xbox except that my son plays it, all disks are genuine and not copys. I am only interested in getting it working again although if i thought it would take this long I would of just bought him a new unit!
Now that I have started I am eager to get to the bottom of it and will sort it hopefully will
the help of the kind people that have already taken the time to suggest options. I am not a pirate.

I predict that you will soon be swallowing this badly given advice.
How do you figure,

Based on initial post op noted he is post, based on other suggestions by members it was noted he was trying to flash an update to 13599, but failed and was asking what dash it was, hence 1+1=2

The dash was 12625 when the update was applied and if the wrong drive is present then the update will stop and the drive firmware won't be touched. So OP was correct that someone had flashed 0251c on his drive and incorrectly paired it with a 12625 dash.

So the drive needs to be returned to what a 12625 dash expects and that will allow the update to proceed :)

He will of course have a 0251c after the update.
