Hi guys sorry to be dench but i've been following this story on and off, im a right in thinking that some of us might be lucky and have the drive already ? as i obviously have 1 in my system then i've got a samsung usb drive as well

Well, the only thing up to you on that matter is whether you want the firmware or not, not when you want it or when it should be announced..

guess I have no choice since I even need it for OFFline usage of my games, right? forza 4 etc. and those damn CIV checks!

The new drive with C4eva's custom firmware, will we still be able to use it as normal, burning dvd's at normal speed, with all types of media? or will this drive essentially end up being a xbox game burner?

yes it will be like a normal burner but with the extra ability to burn xgd3 games 100%
