yea £50 is a bit much... don't think there is any chance of that happening... touch wood!
It will happen on the likes of Ebay/Craigslist/Gumtree etc but will probably only affect those people who are either looking for a pre-flashed drive specifically or those who don't know what to look for.

I always remember when the first version of xtreme came out though, the prices of 360's with Samsung drives on Ebay were beyond scandalous.

£500 for a dvd writer is just insane!!
That was back in the day man and virtually nobody had them. My first one was a Pio 106 and it was around £175 I think. Amazing when you consider how much they retail for now.

Well both scenarios really, but specifically retailers getting 'inside info' in return for agreeing to sell in a set price range. Like I have already posted though, everyone is worrying far too much, if by some miracle they all get completely sold out, I'll just play one of the hundreds of xgd2 games until they come back in stock.
As long as the model is and remains current, at least for the forseeable future, then that shouldn't really be a problem.

Really. look at it this way you go out and buy 2 new releases then after a few weeks of misuse by the kids leaves you needing to buy them again. where as £50 for a drive that can backup your games ultimately in the long run is saving you a fortune.

When you put it like that, you can't help buy agree :)

in my opionion if people are so worried about prices they should reconsider modding their 360's, if you want to mod you should be willing to accept the expenses that are required
To right, Pretty obvious that the people complaining and concerned about the price of the burner have never donated to the cause in their life... If everyone was just a taker then none of us would even be on this forum

I very much doubt that anyone here will end up having to pay £50 unless it turns out to be some sort of legacy model and in short supply. Some other poor saps will happily spend that kind of money for one though which is usually the cause of the supply problems really.

I'd laugh my back off, especially since 70% of the people that have posted have complained in one way or another.

Like I said - I'd pay £50, just to make a point whatever the drive cost I'll donate the difference
you should pay £100 for supporting them :p (chelsea)
