Hi All,

I have got a nice set up now with everything converted to XCI on a external hard drive.
All my files and updates are merged and listed in the "sxos/xci" folder.
I have done this for the ease of use of mounting and installing as and when necessary.

When you load up the Album -> Games / Installer menu's it loads the games in one by one every time you enter the menu's.
You normally have to wait for the whole menu to load up before processing an action.

Is there a way or a better alternative to this where you can cache all the images and directories somewhere so it loads up almost instantly?

Open to ideas on this one.

Thanks for your help,
Jamie

I'm so interested in this feature ... or future feature of SXOS.
I have about 270 xci files and it takes over 2 minutes to load the Album every time. Even if the game I want appears it doesn't load/mount until the full list of files is completed. I have an RGH xbox360 and whenever I added a new game I would get the option to manual scan for new content. I would love to have this also on SXOS and not have to scan the external HDD each time I access the Album.

I like the idea of the ability to make game searching manual and store a cache of names and images. Whether an XML file could store all the data in and just be appended or replaced on request?

Anyway, nice to know I'm not alone on this one. SXOS is a phenomenal piece of kit.

I wondered whether any of this can be overcome through SX Installer but I do like all the images coming up.

Cheers

While this does not completely fix the issue, I would still like to share what I did to "Help" with loading times.

First I loaded latest version of SX Installer (v3.00).
Then within SX Installer I selected "preload images". Then exit.

Then on my comp, I created a nsp file for SX Installer using "nro2nsp" and ftp to switch.

Install nsp from menu. Now I have SX Installer on my home screen and do not need to wait for everything on my HDD to load before I can select it.

So from home screen click SX then from SX load xci. Click home, close SX, click xci.

This whole process makes loading/changing xci's SIGNIFICANTLY faster. But still not instant.

Give it a try. I hope it helps.
