Call me a n00b but - i need help and can't find it

Hey guys.

I'm new here. First of all, this forum is awesome! People seem cool and full of information.

I have several questions, but let me start by explaining my 360. I purchased it from someone about 6 months ago or so. I didn't ask any questions because I didn't know what to ask. It was modded and I knew how to burn the games that it would play, so I was happy. It has a USB stick in one of the slots and it has no hard drive. I can back up games to a dl+r disk with no problem and they play. Even the newest ones that we buy.

1) How do I find out which particular mod that my system has?
2) Can I add a hard drive? Can it be a USB hdd, or must it be a 360 hdd?
3) Can I back up and play games from the hard drive instead of backing them up on disks?
4) Can I update my system? I keep reading about updating different things (not sure if it means xbox upgrade or mod upgrade or what).
5) Can I play online?
6) Any other information, recommendations or advice you think of giving me?
7) My tray has a hard time opening. Can I replace it, or will that mess up my mod?

1 attach your dvd drive to your pc and use jungle flasher
2 yes you can
3 x360key
4 yes it depends if you console is pre flashed you have to go back to stock,update the dashboard and then reflash
5 you can play online if you do a good job and follow the rules and guides step by step
6 i dont think so your tray gonna mess your mod
now relax,take time to read the tutorials if need more help just ask.
