Searched google forever but couldn't find anything on this yet. So my 360 was last updated like 2-3 years ago, paid a guy to do it, played all my burned games no problem. Been overseas, came back to bunch of new games I'd like to play. Tried a Kinect game, but it said a Kinect update is required. Tried the USB and Mixed Media updated but for whatever reason my xbox won't detect the update... That issue is on hold. (Not sure if related to this current problem below)

Got all greens on ABGX for COD AW, burned and verified fine. I go to install it and it says "Update required". I haven't done it because I don't want it to ruin the ability to play my (non-Kinect) games, which I currently can. Attached are the update screen and dashboard (2.0.14699.0) info. I have LT 3.0 as well.

So can I update to play COD AW AND my other games? And no my xbox has never and will never be on xbox live. Thanks.

you need to update to the latest dash which means flash back to stock then update to 16747 or somewhere around that update. do you also have it rgh'ed or just flashed with LT 3.0?

Its always recommended to return drive back to stock before updating the console. If however, you are not going online and dont intend to, then yes you can update your console. It may return the console to stock firmware though.:D

Sorry forgot the attachments, they're on now. Not sure why they rotated... No RGH just LT 3.0.
1) I can assume that I flash it back to stock, but if I don't know what version stock is, how do I find that out?

From the information u have told us, just update the dash to latest. It is recommended to return to stock but since u are not going online then it doesn't matter.

I always thought that was a forum rule lol..didnt think we were allowed giving help for backups without proof of retail
I dont recall the question being about ripping, patching, or burning a game. The question was more of a how do i update this console safely. Which has been answered.
