Hello everyone. As the title states I have a 360 Elite which recently has developed BAD artifacting. The consoles never been tampered with and only opened once to flash dvd drive. Never had any problems with it up until when the artifacts started which happened after a long Crysis 2 sesh!
I cant seem to find a great deal of info on the problem or if it can be fixed or not. In the last month since the problem developed I have had no RROD or error codes, the machine works great apart from the artifacting.
What I have found is that it could either be the GPU getting ready to die or the scaler chip?
Can these be replaced and if so would it be cost effective to do so against buying a replacement?
Just to add I have actually bought a new slim this week so im not totally desperate but I wouldnt mind having two 360's. I work away alot so it would be nice to keep the slim at home and take the Elite away with me.
Any thoughts would be welcome
