Hey! yesterday i bought an 9504 drive from a reseller here on my country(Venezuela- so i dont know if they are genuine), it was unlocked, but i put it on a console that needed to update to lastest dashboard and so it became locked. i did kamikaze to unlock it. wrote firmware. and then started to play some games. i could hear the spindle motor sounding wierd, after 1 hour game play games will not work. if you put a disc it will sound like its stuck and will give open tray error right away. i have few pcbs, i tried an tx unlocked pcb, and still wont play games. what i want to know if, if i replace the spindle motor can the pcb that i unlocked break it again? or maybe it came like that? one wierd thing is that laser came overpowered. it was 2.15 ohms when it checked it, i turned up to 4.

dont think so. the spindle will make this noise like if something its gettins scratched
And I changed the spindle for a phat one. and works
But can i do that? using an spindle of an phat lite on an slim? its safe?

i had same problem last night with a slim drive the other week after kamakazi,dnt know what caused it,swapped drives from another slim and put the open tray one into another slim and it worked fine.
but the simptoms were the same.
i think id not gone deep enough when i unlocked.dont quote me on this tho
Its kohms not ohms but that 2.15 kohms is a normal reading for a slim drive, the readings you are looking for in the guides refer to phat lasers, by increasing to 4 k you have seriously underpowered the laser and it wont read anything.Adjust the laser back.
