I have done a slim in awhile, can all slims be done now? I have all the right equip for modding drives except how to unlock drives if thats still an issue. I have the CK3, 360USB Pro, every probe that Team X made etc... Can I complete all slims? I have someone that wants me todo theirs but I dont know what drive they have and dont wanna say yes to ALL slims unless so? If Someone could please answer me asap, much appreciated.

No, not all slims can be modded yet. There is still the hitachi 0500 drive that c4e hasnt released firmware for yet, and a new liteon drive the 16d5s. As for unlocking, you will need hardware for that because the slim write protection is still in tact on stock drives and requires unlocking before flashing. You can still read and get the keys without unlocking though. You will need either, A.) replacement PCB $75 USD, B.) sputnik switch $8.00 USD, C.) Sputnik PCB add on (for users with the sputnik probe instead of switch) $3.00 USD. You can make your own probe for the sputnik fix and the pcb add on in not required, but the sputnik hack involves cutting a trace on your dvd drive board. Without the pcb add on you will have to re solder that trace cut after you're done with the flash and repeat these steps every time you upgrade or downgrade your firmware. And this is all assuming the drive is a liteon 16d4s MXIC drive. Go through the junglflasher tutorial ( i know, i know) and figure out which you're most comfortable with.

Yes as joesinger said, there is another method for Winbond drives too called the kamikaze hack too. You can find more info about that in the jungle flasher tutorial as well.

Thanks for the reply guys. Yes I am very aware of the JF tut. I have read it enough now you would think I wrote it lol. I need some advice, as I do mod all kinds of xboxs, and wanna do more slims, what hardware do you all recommend for doing multiple drives? I have everything needed for the flashing as stated in my first post ck3 USBPRO etc...I just need a good unlock methods that I can use on several drives.

Well If you want to go the cheaper route, I recommend the sputnik switch for ever mxic unlock. Youll need to purchase one for every xbox slim that you mod (mxic of course) but at $8 a piece their really reasonable. Otherwise as stated above if youre working on a winbond drive there is the kamikaze hack, but its named kamikaze for a reason lol. For either drive the replacement pcb is the absolute simplest method but the most expensive. So to answer your question. If you want to be able to do any liteon slim for customers, stock up on replacement PCB's. Their expensive but they work without needing specialized skills in soldering and whatnot. If you come across alot of mxic liteons, the sputnik switch might be a good thing to stock up on as well. Those two, IMO, are the best solutions at this time.

Thanks for your reply. With these replacement PCB, do they stay unlocked or can they b locked and have todo all over again? Same with the sputnic switch, does that permantely unlock or just one time? Im just thinking of upgrading these slims in future and wouldn't wanna go through all this again and again...lol

They have a switch on them that you flip before you outro the drive. This re-locks them and makes them respond just as a stock drive would. This applies to both the sputnik chip and the replacement pcb's.

Wouldnt you need to know the drive key for the replacement pcb though...? i.e. you'd have to do the kamikazee hack for the Winbond PCBs to read the drive keyand then send it to the replacement pcb, or am I mistaken?

You can still dump the key off the winbond drive without having to do any hacks or anything like that. The are write protected, not read protected
