No, not all slims can be modded yet. There is still the hitachi 0500 drive that c4e hasnt released firmware for yet, and a new liteon drive the 16d5s. As for unlocking, you will need hardware for that because the slim write protection is still in tact on stock drives and requires unlocking before flashing. You can still read and get the keys without unlocking though. You will need either, A.) replacement PCB $75 USD, B.) sputnik switch $8.00 USD, C.) Sputnik PCB add on (for users with the sputnik probe instead of switch) $3.00 USD. You can make your own probe for the sputnik fix and the pcb add on in not required, but the sputnik hack involves cutting a trace on your dvd drive board. Without the pcb add on you will have to re solder that trace cut after you're done with the flash and repeat these steps every time you upgrade or downgrade your firmware. And this is all assuming the drive is a liteon 16d4s MXIC drive. Go through the junglflasher tutorial ( i know, i know) and figure out which you're most comfortable with.
