Can any bios other than x3 bios be flashed to chip?

I got a debug dash bios from a friend. He put it on his smartxx and it boots fine. I tried to put it on my x3 and all it does is frag. Can anyone help me with this?

Just simply put the X3 BIOS on your chip, and put EvoX in C:\ and put the evoxdash.xbe file out by itself under C:\. Dont put it in any folders [The EvoXDash.xbe file]

You are thinking about using the Xecuter BIOS and installing EvoX dashboard. Boomraider is asking more in the direction of using a totally different BIOS on the Xecuter 3 chip. The main question is, can you use a different BIOS other than the official X3 BIOS'?

The BIOS is for a Debug dashboard, which has worked flawlessly on a SmartXX chip. Flashing is no problem, the chip eats up the BIOS but spits out a FRAG when powered on.

I think that the BIOS for the X3 is unique.


I'm pretty sure that it is the only BIOS that will run on the chip.

You can try it... flashing the wrong BIOS doesn't hurt anything.

Just set your jumpers to on on off off off which is the first bank in the chips memory and flash the X3 BIOS...

Then go to on off off off off which is the second bank. Flash the other BIOS and see what happenes... if it screws eveything up then simply go back to the first bank... (on on off off off)

There's no ill effects so just experiment.

I do think that the X3 BIOS is the only one that will work though...

I tried and still the only one i got to work was the Xecuter. Worth a shot though.

Looks like you might have to get that SmartXX for your new 1.6 after all Jon.
