Hi,

Xecuter 3
Xbox V1.0
Evo X cd
Linksys Router

I'm using FlashFXP 2.0 to connect to my xbox, which I can do no problem. For some reason though, I can download from the xbox no problem, but cannot upload.

When I try to upload let's say evox.ini it gives me this:

[R] PORT 192,168,1,100,8,23
[R] 200 Port command ok.
[R] STOR evox.ini
[R] 150 Opening BINARY data connection for C:\evox.ini
[R] 426 Connection closed , file opening failed.
[R] Transfer Failed!

Why does it keep on doing this?

Not only that, but when it does fail, I also get gibberish files that are created on my xbox C drive.

Files like
ÿvoxÿini (created when I try and fail to upload evox.ini)
ÿboxÿxtf
ÿboxÿashþxbe (created when I try and fail to upload xboxdash.xbe)

which are all strangely 15.94 mb.

Also, if I try to upload those files to my PC, the connection freezes.

Any ideas?

Tried using IE to FTP, gave me this error:

200 Typeset to IMAGE
502 pasv is not implemented
200 Type set to IMAGE
200 Port command ok
426 Connection closed, file opening failed

I've tried cute_ftp, ws_ftp, leapftp and the same thing has been happening.

I'm running winxp with the firewall off and a linksys router that has no firewall.

When I check the properties of the 'gibberish' files, the type of file is said to be Binary. This is weird since the ftps use ASCII to transfer the files.

Try using QWIX to FTP. It was designed only to ftp with your XBOX, so it's simpler and easier to use in my opinion. Go to teamavalaunch.com to download it, you will need winrar to extract it though because it's a .rar file. Just search for "WinRar download" on Yahoo or Google to download it.

If this helps, please add to my rep, Thanks. :)

Press F6 select the "Proxy/Firewall/Ident" tab, click the checkbox passive mode.
Disconnect and reconnect to your X-Box should do the trick
