can i ftp the dash?

I can't get this freakin dash file onto a cd thgat my POS xbox can read is there some way i can ftp the files to the box? It goes to rock my box, but then just goes into microsoft and won't read my discs

Sure can! Just put it in the same place as your current/other dash(s)

I don't have any dash's that is the whole problem. Is it normal to not be able to boot any backup games until you install some kind of dash?? I'm going freakin bonkers. If this f$%kin thing won't read cd-rw's I'm going to stomp on it. I am off to town to find some goddam cdrw's. What a complete pain in the ass this is.

make sure its named .xbe

.....anyone else out there...please tell me if i am wrong!! I am at work right now so i cannot look on my xbox to make sure, and it been so long since i transfered a dashboard...

Yeah but what adress and passwords and such do u put into the ftp quick connection box, I also dont have any dashes not even the original green one, is it still possible for me to get the dash through ftp also i just would put it in the f drive? any specific place or just in the f drive?

No just put it in F:/


and by default the username & PW should be xbox

if I flash with a disk will a dvd-r work or do i have to use a cd-rw?

i don't think either will work if you don't have a dash installed...but im not sure on that.....Dr Thumb is saying his isn't reading disks w/o a dash

DVD-R

Use the sony ones and burn them at the lowest speed possible.
