I was wondering if it is safe to boot the .ecc with the nandx wires only install still installed as I would like to leave them there so that after i get my cpu key i can use the nandx to write the fb image w/o having to unsolder for boot then solder it back in right after.

Yes, you can leave them installed.... just don't leave the NAND-X connected when you power the console on!
