Can i mod my xbox and not get baned

I was just wondering what drives are not getting banned after being modded, ive been regularly checking the forums and it seems (although im prob wrong) that the new drives, when modded arent getting banned. like what was the difference between the modded ones that got banned and didnt (was it just the drives or the firmware they used).

samsungs with new 1.2 are still good to go

there is no new firmware yet for the hitachis

yes it is the ixtreme 1.2 and yes for all(both) samsungs..ms25 and ms28
