My slim has a 0225fw with a winbound PCB. I cannot find a xecuter unlocked pcb anywhere to save my life nor can I find a MXIC so that I can do the sputnik probe. I did find a 9504 board and I know that with those you don't need to do any hardware mods. So can I get this 9504 board and just put my 0225 on it?

yes i have cross flashed a 0401 with 0225 because i drilled too hard when attempting to kamikaze the broad, as long as its the same hardware revision its should work

Hardware revision doesn't matter. Any slim lite-on pcb will work in any slim lite-on drive.
In the case of a spelling error, I blame Tapatalk.

As long as its a DG-16D4S it doesnt matter what FW it had, it will fit! But you should get a unlocket pcb, not a 9504 that you have to lock to be safe, if you ever need to reflash it again it will be the same story.
All DG-16D4S are the same just different firmware. Its like a 93k series and a 83k series D2S drives. You can interchange them just write your needed FW to them
