ANSWERED can i replace my 0225 by 9504

I've just burn my Liteon 0225 out and it's lighting red :rolleyes2:

so I searched for replacement and I couldn't find so where can I get it ?

can I buy liteone 9504 and install it as easy as it sound then it will run smoothly or do I have to flash it or it doesn't fit at first place ?:crazy:

I wouldn't see why not if you have your keys. I did something similar where I couldn't find an unlocked PCB so I ordered a OEM replacement PCB. It turns out the PCB was from a 0225 and my 360 originally had a 9504 PCB. I flashed the 0225 PCB with the 9504 firmware and it works fine.

so i found one 0225 in ebay if i buy it do i have to flash it ?

All dg16d4s drives are hardware identical 9504 is just the firmware on the drive. You will need a way to lock an unlock updates will fail or the spi will be locked if its not locked. Like the person above said tx pcb will save you time and money. If you feel confident go for the kamikaze or Sputnik. I can do both but have tx pcbs or pro kits in my slims. Pcb is easy in and easy to use.

Yes you have to flash it. First it needs to be unlocked.

yes u will have to flash it but u will also have to unlock it as 0225 are locked down from the get go u would be safer getting a tx replacement pcb. sorry didnt see the above post

if your pcb is not damaged,then just put your pcb into the new drive.

I`m somewhat having this problem now, Couldn`t get my 0225 flashed but was able to find a unlocked 9504. Is it possible to flash that? I have my original key from the 0225
