can i replace the motherboard?

This might be the wrong place for this thread, but here i go. My unmodded xbox has the red ring of death. I have 3 other xboxs for spare parts. can i just replace the motherboard and be good to go on live and play or do i have to do some firmware or software modding thanks.

You'll want to use the DVD drive that came with the mobo you're using for replacement. Or if the drives bad get the key off and flash it to another one. The mobo and drive must match keys.
