Can I RGH just to backup CPU Key then disable RGH and revert to stock for live play?

Hi,
I've read through quite a few threads but I've got to a point where I'm hoping to get some advise.
I'm new to JTAG/RGH and to tell you the truth I don't really have any interest in it for the moment as I like to use Live and like the kids to use backups on my Slim.
However I can see RGH being something I might be interested in, in the future.

Here's what I've got at the moment:
Trinity with Lite-On 9504 0225 DG-16D4S
TX replacement PCB installed on drive at LT+ v3.0
Currently on Dash: 2.0.14699.0

I read that if I update to the new 2.0.14717.0 dash then it may limit my chances of obtaining my CPU key/NAND backup/performing a RGH in the future.
If this is true (is it?) then I'm thinking perhaps it'd be best for me to get a Coolrunner & Slim QSB kit now, I can solder.

At the moment I've only got:
Xecuter CK3 Lite
Xecuter X360USB PRO

So here are some questions I'd really appreciate some help with before I decide what to do next:

1. Can I use the Coolrunner/QSB JUST to backup the CPU Key and NAND and anything else I'll need later? Then disable it afterwards as if it was never there and continue on live etc as I am currently!
2. I read I can power the Coolrunner from the board in standby mode to programme it? Seeing as my CK3 Lite isn't compatible I'd rather not invest in another at the moment.
3. Can I backup the NAND and CPU Key via a XILINX LPT UPDATE CABLE? Again, as I'm not intending to utilise the RGH yet I'd rather wait until I do before investing in a NANDX.

I guess that if I have to buy loads more stuff at the moment then I'll give RGH a miss and just revert to stock and update dash, it'd just be a shame if I missed the opportunity and no RGH solution is found later for 2.0.14717.0 +.

Thanks for any advise you can provide.

Thanks, if something is on the cards then maybe I don't need to worry so much for the moment.

Do you think it would it be useful if I just got the CPU Key on it's own, without the NAND?

You can't do that, you need to get the NAND in order to use it to flash a ecc file from which you get the CPU key. To even get the key you need something to read/write the NAND (NAND-x), a coolrunner chip, and a way to program the coolrunner.

Yes did it to retrieve a customers lost dvd key. Afraid RGH xboxes are going to become rare like jtags now. Im going to let my consoles gain worth.

Hmm, thanks everyone but I'm getting a few mixed reports. To try and be clearer, I think I need the cpu key not the dvd key which I believe I have already from flashing my pcb. I'm trying to work out if I need the nand backup at the moment and if cpu key is enough on its own. Perhaps i'm missing a point here and your saying that I need to reprogramme nand in order to extract cpu key?

to get the cpu key.
1 read the nand,
2 create ecc file from the nand.
3 write ecc file to nand,
4 program and install coolrunner,
5 boot console to get cpu key.

basically you need the ability to run unsigned code to get the cpu key, without a coolruner installed the console CAN'T run unsigned code.

No you will need to RGH console to allow it to boot Xell which will then give you the CPU key on screen. You cannot get it from just the nand else things would be really easy. You also get your DVD key when doing this process. This is why people have done this when they have a consoe where the DVD key is lost, it can be recovered to bring a standard console back to life.

i might sound daft but surely my cpu key will never change ?
so if i dump my nand and carry on updated my box then in 6 weeks think oh well i might glitch my console can i not use the nand from 6 weeks previous ?

In my case it looks like I don't need to get the wallet out just yet! :)

"We are very pleased to announce that we have fully decrypted CB_B and can now achieve a full RGH hack using a STOCK TX CoolRunner on slims with the 14717 dashboard even if they have no previous nand dump or CPU_KEY !" Xecuter

Thanks to everyone for their advise but thankfully it looks like I've more time to read up on RGH before I attempt it.
