After installing XCI games in my switch, im asked if I want to update the games to the latest version. I tried to, but I get a network error. Anyone have input on updating games? Will they stop working? I have my Nintendo account disabled, not sure if enabling it would fix the network error.
can I update the backups?

It's likely you have sx on stealth mode. I wouldn't advise in updating installed xci as it does not install a ticket which is used to validate your copy of the game.
Stealth mode just protected you from a ban. Update offline by installing the nsp update file.
