Can I update with R6T3 removed?

I understand that removing R6T3 resistor or bridging U6T1/U6T2 points will prevent writing to NAND and blowing efuses, protecting your JTAG.

My question is witch of these are blocked:

1. accidental dashboard/cb updates from Microsoft games
2. xell updating your dash
3. writing with NAND interface

Do I need to solder the resistor back/unbridge to update to latest kinect freebot dash?

Thank you in advance

No, R6T3 is only needed for official dashboard updates. Right now, all you need to do is to create a new freeBOOT 0.4 image using fbbuild and your CPU Key, then write this image to the NAND. This will get you updated to the latest kinect dash.

So removing R6T3 prevent accidental dashboard updates, but allow updates trough xell, is that correct?

yes, offical updates it blocks/stops, freeboot(jtag) updates are no problem.
