I thought I had finally successfully flashed my 1.6 (not B just regular 1.6) with the x3 3294 bios. Upon flashing, the xbox powered down. Now when I power on (I have the x3 control panel), no matter what, the xbox frags. I've found a few combinations with the banks that will allow for the xbox to boot, but with no video and a solid orange power led.

Ignoring the flash protect button, I use off on off off and the Xbox will boot but only to a blank screen.

on on off off frags.

I can boot to 256k backup but obviously I cant http flash through that as the chip is protected. I unplugged the x3cp and was able to boot the xbox to the bios screen. I flashed through http and everything seemed good, but then when turning on the xbox, it fragged.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if more info is needed.

First of all try a replacement video cable as solid orange indicates a bad video lead.
If that doesn't work then try the following
Boot to the backup bios (press power on and eject to get purple logo).
Then set switches to on,on,off, off making sure the protect switch is also set to off.
Then flash the bios through http or disc using bios 3294 for v1.6 xbox. When you unrar the bios file it will give you two bios files make sure to use the one labelled 3294.v1.6plus
If it says the flash is protected make sure the switch on the x3 chip itself is set to off.
If that doesn't work then recheck all the solder points especially pins 13 and 14 on the lpc header
I just reread your post and noticed this "unplugged the x3cp and was able to boot the xbox to the bios screen" Which bios screen did you get? the cromwell flashbios screen or the x3 configlive bios screen.
