I've learned much by being corrected myself.

It's all good.
I just happened to have the LBA48.txt file kicking around on the computer I was posting from so I was able to quickly confirm what the default was. Here's a little more info as this may come up in later searches for assistance-
These are the LBA48 modes and were copied directly from LBA48.txt-
0 = standard partitions
1 = F: gets all (Default)
2 = F: up to 137gb, G: gets rest
3 = F: up to 137gb, no G:
Now I'll get to guessing... maybe I'll be corrected this time and get some additional education.
0- I suspect if the BIOS is set to this it will only create the same partitions you have on a stock Xbox HDD. No F, no G, regardless of how large the HDD is. To me "standard partitions" sounds like it means "same as stock."
1- As discussed, this is standard partitions plus an F drive, where F gets everything that is available beyond the standard partitions. I am not aware of the real limit on this, but the theoretical cap is roughly 2.2TB. (Yes, that's terabytes.)
2 and 3- so if 0 gets you a "stock" config and 1 gets everything extra as an F partition, what is the point of F to 137 and G gets rest or F to 137 and no G? I believe that these are for compatibility with partitioning done at the time of older BIOSes. Ex., if you installed a 120GB HDD in an Xbox with an X2 4xxx.06 (creates F partition, #6) BIOS you would probably need to use mode 3 in order to properly see the partition. If you used 4xxx.67 (creates F partition #6 and G partition #7) you would want to use mode 2. Fuzzy on if this is truly the case, corrections welcome.
The original Xbox BIOS and the early modded BIOSes were based on LBA28 technology. This was the reason for a 137GB cap... the BIOS couldn't address anything beyond that mark as it had run out of address space. Patching the BIOS with LBA48 logic broke this barrier.
