Can someone help with upgrading?

i asked in somone else post and got this respose

red, just get ixtreme 1.2, iprep, and the iprep latest definitions file.

use iprep to make your usb or CD bootable with the ixtreme1.2 firmware.

turn off pc...

hook up your xbox drive to pc with sata cable and turn on xbox...

then turn on pc, and make sure it boots your usb or cd first...

at command prompt type "idump xxxxxxx xxxxx" (x is your drives serial, I use 1234567 12345"

turn off xbox and select the option that says xtreme

count to 10 (one thousand one, one thousand two....)

Turn on xbox - do the same procedure with iflash xxxxxxx xxxxx

Done!

Good luck!
By trying this i got these errors

So more or less i don't know the first step to upgrading.
I have samsung TS-H943 MS 25 drive.
Currently running 5.2c
i'm using iprep to upgrade to ixtreme 1.2
I'm using a boot cd cause my motherboard can't boot from usb.
i have a vt via 6421 sata card.

Ummm, I have tried iPrep and it gave me nothing but problems I recommend staying with the good old XBM 3.6 and just using the same old flash methods. Of course you will have to use the "Bad Flash" method with the your 360 now that you have the v5.2 on there currently.

I kept reading about the "bad flash" method, but as far as tell it's just an extra box in XBM 3.6 Is that right am i missing something?

Yes, you are missing a step. The video will show you all you need to know about the "Bad Flash" method.

Watch the video at the link below :

i've seen that video a few times, again it still seems like all i need to do is check a box.
Doesn't checking the box edit the files for me???
Or am i missing anything else. does this upgrade the firmware for me?

Did you not see the "10 second trick"? You need to do the 10 second trick along with applying the 2 patches XBM provides for you.
