Geez, they put out the thing for use, and maybe he doesnt want to solder it, if you have it be nice, and give the man a rightfully deserved review, sheesh.

if everyone should solder then what would be the point in making it.

there was no need to reply the way you did.

Hi guys, the Xapt3r is a great improvement over the old Xapter and it's counterparts. The LED indicators work great and the replacement screw arrangement ensures that there is no alignment problems or "paper-trick" needed like other cheaper designs.

Apart from it working great and being super easy to install the thing looks like a bionic-ear or something, way cool!

It's compatible with all modchips that have the d0 control and should be in stock at all Xecuter stores now.

here's my review:
the thing works great. i have a version 1.0 xbox. it took me a couple of minutes to unscrew the top and remove the dvd and hard drive. i did not have to unsolder the points on the 1.0, nor did i have to remove the motherboard. i seated the xapt3r and found the d0 point. very easy. i attached the eternal switch and eject adapter. connected the x3 and that was pretty much it. put everything back with a new harddrive (and faster ide cable) in place. turned it on, did the http flash. very easy as well. installed slayers. very very easy. and that was it. i'm fully up and running. no soldering at all (i opted to not have the hdd and lan lights. do i need them? no.)

took about 1/2 hour. and everything seems like it's working great.

It looks like a fine piece of engineering and will find it's place in the market but....It is not as good as soldering your chip if you are able to do so..

I'm gonna have to disagree. Although I'm sure statistically the probability of the Xapt3r coming loose is higher than a solder job coming loose, this thing AINT COMING LOOSE. Its design is just so great. I tried to move it around while my xbox was on, and it wouldnt budge, LED's stayed constant, etc. And the d0 point aint coming loose either, since the wire practically is embedded into the mobo. I give it a 10/10 here.

you need to do the MRA hack. Google it. probing r707 only works on 7series liteons
