Can someone with a 1.6b check something for me?

Hi

I don't have a 1.6b, so I need someone who has!

If you boot FlashBIOS 3.0.0 on your 1.6b, are your symptoms:

Black screen
Red Eject Led (constant)?

If so, can you try this:

Boot chip (screen goes blank)
When Eject LED goes red, press the eject button once.
Eject button should flash once green, then go back to red.
Wait 2 seconds, then press the Eject button again.

Keep doing this for 5 or 6 times (press eject once etc..). Let me know if anything happens. Just trying something...

It seems to work even if you don't have a red eject LED.

If you haven't updated the backup BIOS on your X3, you can try it from there.

Just keep pressing the eject button at regular intervals..

SORRY MARTING, BUT THERES ONLY FLASHBIOS 3.0.1 AND 3.0.3 IN THE DOWNLOADS, SO CANT TEST IT M8.

Didn't work on my 1.6b. Even tried different banks using your trick, just for yuks. Good luck figuring out what's up with this undocumented feature you've discovered!

I think the programmer for the X3 would be most helpful. I'd be willing to build one just to learn something (not to mention gettng my X3 working), but I'd need a wiring diagram since I'm no electronics tech. I'd need software to talk to the gadget too.

Divineo won't flash the chip they sold me, and I don't know anyone with an X3. So I guess my Xbox will adorn my spare parts area until I figure something out. No reason to reassemble it until the mod is working.

Yes - it's a 1.6 with FlashBIOS 3.0.3.

I had to restart the camera (which is why it's in two parts), but I did nothing more between the 'takes'.

Anyways, the results are as conclusive now as they could be. Noone seems to be able to get this going with a 1.6b and FlashBIOS 3.0.1, so the experiment's over. Thanks to those who tried.

Banned from LIVE, but will Kinect still work?

We have a banned xbox(prefer not to pay for live anyhow)... Will the Kinect still operate or should i be buying a new xbox too?

I replaced my liteon with a sammy as the lens went bad. so Im using a spoofed drive too...

(so far my reading says no way to un ban, but I think my above question is valid still)

there is a way to unban but its long winded and involves injecting the serial from an unbanned console to the banned one, which to me is pointless as if you have an unbanned one why would you put it on another one and waste time.

As for your Hdd you can get a hdd unban tool (google it) and it'll sort that out.

Kinnect - i would use an unbanned console as it use abit of space on your hdd for calibration and some other stuff (190mb) plus it would be more advantageous to have your new kinect working on a fully functioning uncrippled 360.

Tho i wouldnt see why it wouldnt work on a banned one

It is possible, you need to get the update on a USB pen drive and update your console like that, or with a cd with the update. I'm not sure if its avaliable on xbox.com yet because i had to search the web for a download of it. The banned xbox i have was banned in 2009
