-X3
-v1.6b
-installed lpc rebuild,
-double and triplechecked solders all seem good according to multi meter
-using regular video cables (not HD)
-both blue lights on chip when installed, but still fragging
-tried all variations of front panel switches in front, turns red with H.D flashing
-not getting video from chip installed or with regular x-box bios
-have tried all variations in terms of booting
-fragging no matter what, and no video!
PLEASE HELP?

Is it possible you don't have Flashbios 3.03 on that chip? Is it X3 or X3CE, because if it's X3CE, then it has 3.03, but if it's X3 it might or might not.

Can Martin or Xecuter or someone that knows please inform me exactly what happens when you have a 1.6b and don't have at least 3.03? I didn't think it FRAGs, but maybe flashes some other color or what? I haven't had the experience myself and want to be able to help others that might have this situation.

If you DO have the latest Flashbios, then it's almost certainly the solders. You checked the soldering, but have you actually tried heating them up again? Did you use flux to ensure that it sucked the solder into the holes and is making a full connection? I know you say you checked it all, but if you frag then it is almost certainly the soldering job. Just try that one more time, just for me :p

I have a 1.6b and received a chip with a 3.0.1. All it does is no video with the chip enabled no matter what bank. If the chip is properly installed, eveything works as the docs say except for the no video with the chip on...Hope that helps information wise...

Right, I had something kind of like this happen. Please try this. If you hold the power button in does it go to MS Dash properly. If so it should be an issue with a solder point. If that is the case there is one in particular that I missed on my first install using the LPC Rebuild on a 1.6 over on the border of the rebuild PCB there is a solder pad right next to a pin and solder needs to go right on across to properly connect that particular LAD. As a note check and recheck before you try anything I say because I'm not a pro I've only done two boxes.
