Just wondering if it is possible to put the x2config file into the bios somehow. I think that would be much nicer then having it on the HD. Personally i setup my config and it is never changed.

Forgive me, as I really do love the 5032 bios and what it can do, and I appreciate all the work team Xecuter does, but those (Two? Try ten) seconds really are annoying.

I've got my config.ini exactly the way I want it, everything works great now that I patched the bios to handle my partitions, and I couldn't be happier with the way the actual bios performs, if it weren't for the loading screen.

I, for one (And I don't seem to be alone) would much prefer a way to inject the config into the bios, rather than have it load each time; I won't be changing my settings anytime soon, and I don't mind reflashing if I ever do.

If this is an absolute impossibility, might it be possible to add our own custom X2 LIVE CONFIG LOADING screens, or add the option to skip the flubber completely?

umm y use the X2 config live bios then use the old NON-config live bios and use XBTool to modifi it to the way you would like it..... it may seem WAY tooooo hard to figure that out tho lol

I for one would also like to see this done. Because it gets rid of that loading screen, and also, most people have two banks of their chips, and are use to having bank1 boot to one dashboard, and the bios on bank2 boot to another dashboard. But wait, if you have x2 5032 on both banks, IT LOADS THE SAME .INI FILE. So it is really pointless to have a dual bank chip because both banks will load the same sh*t.

how are the defaults set

"x2config.ini now first searched on F: and, if not found, on E: - if again not found then defaults are used" This was taken from the readme1st.txt with the bios.

If it loads the defaults then am i to assume they are coded into the bios somewhere already? If so couldnt there be a way to code these defaults to something else and disable the searching for x2config.ini?

just use a different X2 bios other then the config live bios, cuz what your saying can be done with xbtool on the 4032(i think thats it lol) and you have no use for the new bios, its only if your a show off and like having a different startup screen every time nerly. i have 17 diff x2config.ini files set up and random rotate then by ftp every week or so. now every one stop complaining about the 2 SECOND loadin screen or go and make your own bios (p.s if you do i will eat my xbox mmmmm tasty) and leave xecuter alone to do some more magic.

Well, don't forget guys that older x2 bios don't support 1.6 boxes.

I would like to have the option to use a xecuter 2.6 in a 1.6 xbox with X2 5032 and embended x2config.ini.

i just timed it - the delay is 2.6 seconds at the live config loading screen

so i have no idea what you are talking about

and you can select the option to not lod the flubber - but that does NOT speed up

the xbox needs 10 seconds (without a modchip) to initialize the hard drive and everything else - but you'd know this if youd read a bit ;)

you can hack the bios to change the filename of the ini it searches for

Just timed it. It takes exactly 10 seconds from power on to get to the flubber screen. My harddisk is about 3 years old, don't know the specs, but it might be slower than the newer ones you guys are using.

I'd love to see an option to integrate the .ini into BIOS. :)

First off, You don't know the exact internals and specifics of my Xbox, so please don't assume I'm using the same system configuration as you, or that my Xbox will act the same as yours. Mine takes closer to ten seconds at the X2 Loading screen, and if you don't believe me, I'd be glad to whip out my digicam and take a nice little movie for you.

Second, I've read plenty, as evidenced by my low post count, since I don't feel the need to flood the boards with dozens of whiny posts asking for obvious information posted elsewhere. High post count does not always equal smarter.
I can read, I can follow simple instructions, and I don't necessarily appreciate being talked down to because I added a reasonable response to an ongoing discussion.

I have, since posting my original comment, gone back to a customized 4981 bios with no X2 Config Loading screen, and that will suffice for now. Thanks.

i think i know how the internal mechanisms of the xbox work and id dare to say much better than you do - you obviousley have something bizarre in your setup as i just ran a reqeust on our beta cvs asking the entire team to test the time of the x2 config loading screen - the slowest reported was 3 seconds - and thats from 27 beta testers.

and you haven't read well enough imho as you didnt even know that you could turn off the flubber and that it makes no speed difference whatsoever.

thread closed - the bios is great enough as it is and improving every week (5035 for example)
