Can my xbox read DVD-RW's? I need a disc to install evox dash and the only thing I have are cd's (which I was told don't work) and dvd-rw. will either of those work for the dash?

It depends on what DVD drive you have... Samsungs and Phillips can read all media. the others i believe have trouble with dvd+r and cd-r's

I have a samsung drive but do you think it will work with a Memorex dvd-rw or a Digital audio cd-r??? or will it screw up my box if it doesn't work?

It can't screw anything up... it just won't read it. But Samsungs are supposed to read all media so don't worry about it.

weirdest thing happened to me...I used a cd-r to make an evox disc and it worked...then a few a months later I was doing something stupid with the file manager and somehow got evox replaced with the msdash (Don't ask)
but when I went to go use the same exact disc (not a copy the same exact one) the damn thing wouldn't read it....really weird...anyway...decided to break down and spend the 2 bucks or whatever for a dvd-r and used that and it worked perfectly....

If you made a boot disc of evo-x then to boot it it needs to be in the dvd drive before you turn the xbox on. If you put it in after the xbox logo has done then it won't read.
