Can you get x3 cofig live to boot with locked HD?

I have a locked HD and was wondering if I can unlock it with the X3. It says it supports locking and unlocking of HDs. If you can, then that would solve alot of problems for alot of people. The HD is from another xbox and I can't get the original back. I have the x3 with the 1959 BIOS. Also, its a v1.4 xbox. Well if anyone tried this post here or if you know if it can be done. I am at work otherwise I would give it a shot. How do you boot to X3 config? Hold white button as xbox is booting up?

Nope you can only unlock the hard drive from the eeprom of the original Xbox. No chip can unlock that.

sorry, but you can not unlock a hdd if it was locked with another xbox's eeprom in x3cl.

I have 4 totally useless HD's I had to go out and buy 2 x 120gig. There was nothng I could do. Oh well, I am set now. I have 1 1.6b with a x3 and 120 gig and a 1.4 with x3 and 120gig. Time to link. How do I do it anyways? I have a crossover and 2 tv's. Can I do it off the HD? and will the games automatically see eachother?

there are some utilities out there that maybe will let you unlock the hdd's, but have not tried them myself. look on xbox-scene.com and in the tools section. i think i seen some there.

Samsung ms25 and LT question

I've just tried to flash a samsung ms25 with LT and when jungleflasher autoloaded the LT firmware, it stated that LT was for the ms28 but spoofed as a ms25. Is this ok to go on xbox live seen as though its spoofed?

they used to make firmware separately for 25 and 28 drives

then they started using the same firmware with different identity strands
